Voting registration deadline is Feb. 15

The primary election is a few weeks away, and the deadline to register to vote varies depending on your registration process.

The primary is March 1, and Mon., Feb. 15, is the Escambia County deadline for registering at the board of registrars, said county registrar Mike Ward.

This Saturday is the deadline for mailing applications to register, provided the postmark is no later than Feb. 13.

In addition, Feb. 15 is also the deadline for online applications at www.alabamavotes.gov/olvr/.

There are two local races that will be on the primary ballot.

In District 4, Incumbent Brandon Smith will face off against James Hilton “Junior” Hall in the GOP primary.

Additionally, the Escambia County school board will see two district seats up for election.

In the Escambia County school board election, Incumbent Sherry Digmon is facing off against David Nolin in District 6. Both are republicans.
