Atmore police officials confirmed the discovery of the body of a woman inside a car parked outside of a home on South Main St. on Feb. 10.

Chief Chuck Brooks said the woman’s name is Patricia Marsteller.

He said there was no physical signs of injury on the body, and no foul play is suspected.

Brooks said investigators aren’t sure how long Marsteller was inside of the car, but added that she was in there at least a day.

Brooks said at the scene that the body was discovered by an animal control officer dispatched to the home to check on a dog possibly in need of assistance.
