The Atmore city council approved a resolution to award the CDBG ED infrastructure grant for sewer and water installation on the industrial access road at its meeting Monday night.

The contract was awarded to Martin Construction Inc. for a base bid of $336,282.22.

The city council approved that bids be open starting June 15, in accordance with state law.

In other business, the council:

• appointed Ginger Cochran to fill the vacancy on the library board; and,

• appointed Dennis Fuqua and Ben Odom to fill vacancies left on the medical clinic board.
