Vesta Carolyn Sharpless

ATMORE – Vesta Carolyn Sharpless, 89, of Atmore died Sunday, May 2, 2010 in Atmore.
She was retired from Monsanto, born in Hartfield on June 28, 1921 to the late John H. and Maude Childs Melton.
Her husband, Rex J. Sharpless; a granddaughter, Valisa Paulette Lambert and a son-in-law, Jackie Sims, preceded her in death.
Survivors include one son, James Lamar Sharpless and wife, Sandra, of Orange Beach; two daughters, Gloria Sims of Atmore and Carolyn Lambert and husband, Gerald, of Goodway; two sisters, Mary Elizabeth Carroll of Pensacola, Fla. and Evelyn Stokes of Mobile; eight grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren.
Services will be held at 2:30 p.m. today, May 5, 2010 from Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Leon Stewart officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery.
Family will receive friends from 1:30 p.m. until service time today, May 5, 2010 at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home.
Active pallbearers are David Brown, David Lambert, Joshua Johnson, Greg Sharpless, Scott Sharpless and Mark Sims.
