An Atmore man was injured Monday when the motorcycle he was driving collided with an automobile at the intersection of Brown and Liberty streets.

Atmore Police Department officials said Lashavies Williams, 31, of Atmore was driving a 1999 Suzuki motorcycle east on Liberty Street when the accident occurred just before 3:30 p.m. Monday.

Lardell McCants, 70, also of Atmore, was driving the 2004 Hyundai Sonata involved in the incident.

Accident reports say McCants attempted to make a left hand turn onto Brown Street, which put her vehicle in the path of the motorcycle driven by Williams.

Williams was reportedly transported by Atmore Ambulance to the North Baldwin Infirmary in Bay Minette.

McCants was not seriously injured in the incident.

Information on the condition of Williams was not available as of press time.
