Second armed robbery probed

Things are hopping at Kangaroo Express locations in Escambia County, but not the way store operators would like.

The Flomaton location of the convenience store chain was reportedly robbed Tuesday making it the second location of the chain to be robbed within a week.

A single adult male robbed the Kangaroo Express Shell station located on Sidney Manning Boulevard during the early morning Tuesday, reports said.

Flomaton Police officials did not release any additional information about the incident; however, no arrests have been made in the case. The clerk at the store was not injured in the incident.

The robbery in Flomaton came one week after the Kangaroo Express on Highway 31 West in Atmore was robbed under similar circumstances. A single male entered the store and took an undetermined amount of cash before fleeing the scene.

Although law enforcement officials have not said the two incidents are related, the robberies remain under investigation by Atmore Police Department and Flomaton Police Department.
