Jeanne Ann (Riendeau) Newton

BAY MINETTE – Jeanne Ann (Riendeau) Newton, 66, went to be with the Lord Friday, July 16, 2010.

A resident of the Rabun Community of Bay Minette, born July 27, 1943, she was a receptionist (retired) with Blackmon Insurance Agency. She was a veteran of the Vietnam War having served with the U.S. Air Force.

Her husband, Donald Edward Newton; a granddaughter, Samantha Luverne Newton and her parents, Alberte and George Riendeau, preceded her in death.

She is survived by her son, Lee (Jennifer) Newton of Rabun; two grandchildren, Donald Edward Newton and Kimberly Rose Newton, both of Rabun; two sisters, Maddy (Basil) Nason and Rita (Jim) Giles, both of St. Petersburg, Fla. and her grand nephew, Brody Roe of St. Petersburg, Fla.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, July 19, 2010 at the chapel of Norris Funeral Home with the Rev. John Whitfield, the Rev. David Edwards and Chaplain Cindy Still officiating. Cremation will follow with interment of her ashes at a later date at Guys Chapel Cemetery in Rabun.

The family received friends from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. at Norris Funeral Home.
