Tumbling Lane near Canoe became the scene of the latest manhunt today headed up by authorities with the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies with the ECSO and Poarch Tribal Police searched this afternoon for a white man wearing black shorts with the assistance of tracking dogs from Fountain/J.O. Davis Correctional Facility in Atmore. The suspect allegedly entered a residence and attempted to assault the woman living there. The dogs were unable to pick up a scent from the suspect

Officers have taken to the sky as a surveillance plane was called in to aid in the search.

Personnel with Atmore Ambulance transported the woman to Atmore Community Hospital.
