Chiefs suffer loss at Freeport 28-13

Northview’s five-game winning streak and district lead was halted Friday night as the Freeport Bulldogs held back the Chiefs potent rushing attack to win 28-13 in Freeport.
The Chiefs hit the scoreboard first with Brandon Sheets hitting Lance Bushaw for a 65-yard touchdown pass in the middle of the first quarter to go on top 7-0.
Freeport answered right back driving down the field in a three-minute drive scoring on a 49-yard touchdown pass. After a failed two-point conversion, the Chiefs led 7-6.
In the second quarter, the Bulldogs grabbed the momentum and scored twice with the first coming on an 11-yard pass with the extra point being successful, the Bulldogs led 13-7.
On their second touchdown, the Bulldogs recovered a Chiefs fumble and scored a few plays later to go on top 20-7.
The Bulldogs scored again as the fourth quarter began to go up 27-7.
The Chiefs found the end zone one final time as time expired in the game with Sheets hitting La’Mikal Kyles on a six-yard pass to end the game 27-13.
Chiefs head coach Sid Wheatley could not be reached for comment.
