Montgomery recorded 13 kills, two aces and two blocks, while Hardin had three aces, two kills, one block and one assist in the match.

Lady Chiefs head coach Betty Heaton said her team’s seniors gave a strong performance.

“Tonight was Senior Night for our volleyball team,” Heaton said. “We have six seniors on our team this year with Kara Hardin, Shawna Montgomery, Katie Wieborg, Ashley Digmon, Trestine Dean and Sarah Killam. We had a great ceremony for our seniors and I felt that the players did a great job with their messages to each other and the team. All six seniors started and played in every game during our match with Jay. I feel that this is a testament to the great senior class that we have this year. Through out their game they stayed positive as a team even when the score was tight. They did a great job finishing each game.”

Digmon finished the game with eight assists, two aces and one kill, while Killam recorded six assists and two aces.

Wieborg recorded three kills and an ace in the win.

The Lady Chiefs junior varsity also defeated Jay winning their match in a two-game sweep.

The Lady Chiefs JV (7-8) won 25-11 and 25-20 over the Lady Royals.

Heaton said she was happy about the effort she saw from her junior varsity.

“Our junior varsity did a great job coming out ready to play,” she said. “I was pleased with their level of communication on the court and the effort they gave.”
