Sessions addresses residents of Atmore

U.S. Sen. Jeff Sessions discussed several issues that our state and nation face during a brief visit to Atmore last week.

Sessions, who is not up for re-election, spoke of the “uncertainty” in the nations economy with a national debt that continues to rise. Although, he believes America can bounce back.

“I do think that the American economy is not dead,” he said. “I think we can come back.”

He also spoke about the unstable housing market and the regulations banks face.

“It’s easier not to make a loan,” he said.

In response to a question regarding faulty clips for guns that soldiers in Iraq were issued, Sessions said, “We want our soldiers in harms way equipped with the very best,” he said. “They do not need faulty equipment.” Other issues discussed included the tanker contract, terrorism and health care.”
