PORT ARTHUR, Texas – William “Dub” Hayes, 87, of Port Arthur, Texas passed away Monday, Nov. 15, 2010 at Christus St. Mary Hospital.

He was born on Oct. 14, 1923 in Excel to Eugene and Martha Asberry Hayes. “Dub” was a resident of Port Arthur for the past 57 years. He was a master mechanic with over 50 years of service. “Dub” served our country during WWII in the U.S. Navy aboard the U.S.S. Moale as a gunner. He was of the Baptist faith and an avid fisherman.

His parents and a son, W. Phillip Hayes preceded him in death.

He is survived by his wife, Theresa Hayes of Port Arthur; daughters, Linda Rogas of Mauriceville, Deborah and husband, Buddy Miller of Fort White, Fla.; son, Michael and wife, Natalie Hayes of Westlake, La.; daughters, Sharon Hayes of Alachua, Fla., Janet and husband, Perry Wallace of Nederland, Texas, Nancy and husband, Dennis Lively of Orange, Texas and Lori Gallier of Hamshire, Texas; sisters, Carrie Jay and Annie Jean Davis, both of Uriah; sister-in-law, Hazel and husband, Glen Morgan of Brandon, Miss.; 14 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until 12 noon Friday, Nov. 19, 2010 at Johnson-Quimby Funeral home.
