ATMORE – Fay Jackson, 83, of Atmore died Wednesday, Dec. 8, 2010 in Atmore.

He was retired as a crane operator with shipbuilding, born on Jan. 27, 1927 in Poarch to the late Viola Jackson.

A daughter, Ann Ostrander; three brothers, Alton Jackson, Johnnie Jackson and Earl Jackson and two sisters, Lizzie Pearl Wilson and Vivian Hobbs, preceded him in death.

Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Martha Jackson of Atmore; son, Donnie Jackson; two daughters, Judy Strickland of Atmore and Cynthia Alvarez of Pensacola, Fla.; two stepsons, Ricky McGhee and Mal McGhee; two stepdaughters, Carolyn White and Edna Parker, all of Atmore; two sisters, Lucille Sells of Atmore and Carrie Leonard of Pace, Fla. and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 11, 2010 from Atmore Memorial Chapel with the Rev. William Rolin, the Rev. Dave Moulton and Dr. Henry O’Steem officiating. Interment will follow at Judson Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be James R. Hobbs, Jason Fayard, Ronnie Jackson, Steven Leonard, James Wilson, Eddie Jackson and Joshua Martin.

Family will receive friends from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 10, 2010 at Atmore Memorial Chapel Funeral Home.
