DALLAS, Texas – Leon E. Mack was born April 30, 1926 in McCullough to Dottie and Edlow Mack. He passed away Dec. 5, 2010 in Dallas, Texas.

Leon was dedicated to service and volunteering. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and the Royal Order of Jesters, and his special love of children was shown in his work with the Scottish Rite and with the Hella Shriners, with whom he was a circus volunteer for more than 48 years. Leon was also a distinguished U.S. Army veteran, having served in the European Theater, where he was awarded the Purple Heart and the Bronze Star.

Leon worked for more 40 years in the trucking industry, but even after his retirement he wasn’t interested in slowing down, so he went to work for the Richardson ISD. Leon also loved being a volunteer with the Richardson Police Department as a member of the Citizen Patrol Association, and he greatly enjoyed going on “ride-alongs” with the officers, as well as working in his garden, and sharing his home-grown vegetables with friends.
