MILWAUKEE, Wis. – Mrs. Courtney Thomas, 82, of Milwaukee, Wis. formerly of Hurricane transitioned into eternal rest on Friday, Dec. 10, 2010 at her residence.

She was a native of Hurricane and had been a resident of Milwaukee, Wis. for many years. She attended school in Baldwin County and was baptized at St. Mary’s Baptist Church in Hurricane. Upon relocating to Milwaukee, she untied with Christian Fellowship Community Church where she served on the Mother’s Board, a member of the Sunday school and the Missionary Society.

Those left to mourn her are her nephew that she reared, Willie E. Brown of Milwaukee, Wis.; two nieces, Thelma Berry and Doris Cunningham, both of Milwaukee, Wis. and one sister, Dora McNeal of Atmore.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. today, Saturday, Dec. 18, 2010 at the Pleasant Hill Full Gospel Baptist Church in Atmore with the Rev. Freddie Banks, pastor, officiating. Retirement of her remains will be in the Crossroads Cemetery in Baldwin County.
