Minnie Lee Steward Neal

ATMORE – Minnie Lee Steward Neal, 89, of Atmore died Saturday, Dec. 18, 2010 in Atmore.

Minnie Lee was a homemaker and also retired after 34 years of working at Vanity Fair Mills. She was born on Nov. 20, 1921 in Little Rock to the late Charles Wesley and Annie Laura Miller Steward. Minnie Lee and her husband, Cecil, were a loving and dedicated husband and wife who loved to travel and see our great country.

Her husband, Cecil F. Neal and a sister, Cleo Steward Vickery, preceded her in death.

Survivors include a son, Charles Howard Neal and wife, Joyce, of Excel; a daughter, Cecilea Neal Bailey and husband, Ellie, of Atmore; a sister, Luree Steward Purvis of Pensacola, Fla.; four grandchildren, Scott Neal, Mark Neal and wife, Kim, LeAnne Bailey Brantley and husband, Thomas, and Susan Bailey Hetzel and husband, Matt and 10 great grandchildren, Brandon Neal, Lauren Neal, Adam Neal, Ashley Neal, Katie Brantley, Tom Brantley, Sam Brantley, Nora Beth Hetzel, Ellie Frances Hetzel and Lauralee Ann Hetzel.

Services will be held at noon on Tuesday, Dec. 21, 2010 from Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Dave Taylor officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be Scott Neal, Mark Neal, Adam Neal, Matthew Hetzel, Thomas Brantley, Tom Brantley and Sam Brantley.

Caregivers included Sue Gephart, Marilyn Parker, Sue Gohagan and Marsha Green. Special friends included Neil Gephart, Thelma Bouler, Hugh and Nancy Long, Jackie and Tobe Sellers, Carlton and Virginia Sharpless, Ramond Kimmons, Lucille Killingsworth and Earline Odom.

Family will receive friends one hour prior to service time on Tuesday, Dec. 21, 2010 at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel.
