Gladys Lucas Johnson Wilson

ATMORE – Mrs. Gladys Lucas Johnson Wilson, 89, passed away on Sunday, Jan. 16, 2011 in Atmore.

Mrs. Wilson was a native of Evergreen and a resident of Atmore for the past 65 years. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, a former employee of Vanity Fair Mills after 25 years, a bookkeeper of Mixon & Johnson Tobacco Company and attended Presley Street Baptist Church.

Her husbands, Alton E. Johnson, and John A. Wilson, and a grandson, Bryan Neal Johnson, preceded her in death.

Survivors include her son, Melvin E. “Bo” and Louvena Johnson of Ozark; her daughter, Brenda and Kenneth Tomas of Atmore; two grandchildren, Elizabeth Ann and Johnny Brock of Graceville, Fla. and Marcus A. and Melissa Tomas of Greenwood, S.C.; four great grandchildren, John Bryan Brock, Blain Tomas, Caiden Tomas and Braxton Tomas; two brothers, Orville Lucas of Evergreen and Lawrence H. Lucas of Norcross, Ga. and a sister, Inella Smith of Evergreen.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 18, 2011 at the Petty- Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Mike Grindle and the Rev. David Cooper officiating.

Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from noon until funeral time on Tuesday, Jan. 18, 2011 at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home.
