Mary Frances Stokes “Mam-Maw” Nelson

ATMORE – Mrs. Mary Frances Stokes “Mam-Maw” Nelson, 91, exchanged life for an eternity with Jesus on Saturday, Jan. 15, 2011 at a Mobile hospital.

Mrs. Nelson was a native of Brantley, a resident of Atmore since 1965 and attended Westside Baptist Church.

Her Husband, Marlon Nelson Sr.; a daughter, Mary Ann Nelson; two brothers and three sisters, preceded her in death.

Survivors include two loving sons, Donny and Sandra Nelson of Prattville and Marlon and Becky Nelson Jr. of Atmore; six grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren and two sisters, Annie Jo McCartha of Sullivan Island, S.C. and Roberta Pinckard of Brantley.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 17, 2011 at the Petty- Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Leo Luker officiating. Burial followed at Oak Hill Cemetery.

Visitation was held from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 16, 2011 at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home.

Pallbearers were Cody Robertson, Corey Bryan, Hal Clements, Guy Wynn, Robert Pinckard, Kyle Nelson, and Shawn Rolin.
