ATMORE – Mrs. Evelyn LeAnna Owens, 35, of Atmore died Thursday, March 17, 2011 at the family’s residence.

Mrs. Owens was born in Fort Rucker. She lived in Escambia County for many years. She worked for Simmons Ambulance service as and EMT Intermediate.

Survivors include her husband Ralph (Pokie) Owens of Atmore; parents, Mr. Ralph Lee Cooley Jr. and Emma Louise “Lou” Cooley of Atmore; stepson, Joshua Dakota Owens of Excel; stepbrother, Ralph Dwayne Cooley of Excel; stepsister, Michele Ann Myers Turner of Huxford; niece, Heather; great nieces, Kimberlee and Emmalee; great nephew, D.J. and a aunt, Donna Lou Glover of Mannington, W. Va.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, March 20, 2011 at Monroe Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Wane McMillan officiating. Interment was held in Huxford Cemetery. Visitation was held from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Saturday, March 19, 2011 at Monroe Chapel.
