Walter Earnest Gray

ATMORE – Mr. Walter Earnest Gray, 69, of Atmore transitioned into eternal rest on Wednesday, March 23, 2011 at a Mobile Hospital.

Mr. Gray was a native of Atmore and had lived in Detroit, Mich. for many years before returning back to Atmore in 2007 to live. He was a graduate of the Escambia County Training School in 1959 and was a worker with the Chrysler Corp with over 34 years of service.

Those left to cherish his memories are three sister, Shirley Gray-Smith (David) of Lithonia, Ga. Rita Gray and Alvanise Gray, both of Atmore; six brothers, Willie G. Gray of Westbury, N.Y., Freddie (Maggie) Gray of Uniondale, N.Y. Alvin C. (Mary) Gray, Wayne C. (Sandra) Gray and Jeffrey L. Gray, all of Atmore and Frank C. (Delois) Gray of Detroit, Mich.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a. m. Friday, April 1, 2011 at the Harris Street AOH Church of God with Bishop Quillas Mitchell, pastor officiating. Inhumation will be in Stallworth Cemetery. Public viewing will be held on Thursday from 2 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home and his body will lie instate at the Church one hour prior to the funeral service.

Turner Funeral Chapel, LLC will be directing.
