ATMORE – Billy Ray Stafford, 72, of Atmore died Monday, March 28, 2011 at his residence.
He was retired from Scott Paper Co. (Kimberly Clark), born in Monroe County on Dec. 5, 1938 to the late Calvin Howard and Sallie Mae Bell Stafford. He was a very loving husband, father and grandfather.
Two brothers, Calvin LaDon Stafford and William Howard Stafford, preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife, Doris Mae Conway Stafford; one son, Kelvin Julius Stewart and wife, Anne and one daughter, Karen Julia Clements and husband, Michael, all of Atmore; one brother, Julian Robert Stafford of Frisco City; three grandchildren, Brett Clements, Lauren Stewart and Rachel Stewart and many, many friends.
Services were held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, March 31, 2011 from Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Mike Grindle officiating. Interment followed in Conway Cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be LaDon “Scooter” Stafford, Daryl Singleton, Bobby Wooten, Shane Stafford, Eric Stafford and Melvin Byrd.
Family received friends from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Wednesday evening, March 30, 2011 at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home.
