Ernest Earl Skaggs Jr., 63, a native of New Albany, Ind. and a resident of Atmore passed away at his home on April 26, 2011 after a brief illness surrounded by his family and friends.

Ernest worked for many years as a mechanic and a construction worker. His big hobby was his love for motorcycles, but more than anything else he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.

His parents, Ernest and Iris Skaggs, preceded him in death.

He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Minnie C. Skaggs of Atmore; his daughter, Tracey Lynn Skaggs of Atmore and his son, Douglas Lee Skaggs of Atmore; two sisters, Nancy (Sam) Cervantes of Pensacola, Fla. and Lethia Sellers of Pensacola, Fla.; one brother, Gary Skaggs of Versailles, Ind.; two grandchildren, Taylor Dean Sims and Hailey Jane Sims, both of Atmore.

Cremation arrangements are by Hughes Cremation and Funeral Service in Daphne.
