William Wayne Fowler

ATMORE – Wayne Fowler, 72 of Atmore, died Thursday, June 2, 2011 in Mobile. He was retired from Atmore Corrections and was working as a parts clerk with an auto store.

He was born in Luverne, on Sept. 2, 1938 to the late William Filmore and Millie Lee Anderson Fowler. Wayne was an active member at McCullough Christian Center.

He is survived by his wife, Wanda Temple Fowler of Atmore; three sons, Tim Fowler of Dozier, David Fowler and wife, Susan of Rose Hill, and Jeremy Fowler of Mobile; two daughters, Renea Anderson of River Falls and Jeni Knox of Pace, Fla.; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; an uncle and aunt, Billy and Helen Little of Greenville; brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Services will be held Saturday, June 4, at 11 a.m. from McCullough Christian Center with Brother Tommy Smith and Brother Bruce Purvis officiating. Interment will follow in New Harmony Baptist Church Cemetery at Luverne. Family will receive friends Friday, June 3, at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home from 6 to 8 p.m. and again on Saturday, June 4, at New Harmony Baptist Church at Luverne, from 3 to 4 p.m.

Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Inc of Atmore, is in charge of all arrangements.
