Fire damages home on Presley Street

The owner of a home on South Presley Street was lucky to escape with his life after a fire damaged his home Wednesday afternoon.
Emergency personnel with the Atmore Fire Department responded to a fire call at 2211 1/2 South Presley Street at approximately 3:30 p.m. and found smoke billowing from the home.
The man living at the home said he was sleeping when he awoke to his house being filled with smoke.
