Country music is known for songs that tell stories and the industry has a great storyteller in Ronnie Dunn.

Dunn, who was one element in the successful duo of Brooks and Dunn, will be coming to the Atmore area Aug. 6 to perform at the Wind Creek Casino and Hotel Amphitheater.

The concert is part of the continuing effort by Wind Creek organizers to provide quality entertainment for the region.

Megan Young, public relations coordinator for Wind Creek, said Dunn’s performance will be one that will please everyone.

“Dunn’s potent signature combination of hard country and hard rock will be a big hit,” Young said. “This is a good time that you will not want to miss”

For 20 years, Dunn has been a big part of the single most successful duo in country music history — and one of the most popular performing acts in recent music history.

The career of the duo resulted in more than 30 million albums sold world wide and countless stadium and arena shows across the country. The pair racked up multiple Country Music Association awards as well as American Country Music, Country Music Television, People’s Choice, Billboard Music and American Music awards throughout their expansive career.

Dunn said the exploration of a solo career has proven to be a chance to regain the feeling of being a newcomer to the industry.

“I have to say, I’m sure enjoying feeling ‘new’ all over again,” Dunn said.

The Aug. 6 concert is part of a tour that Dunn said is giving him a chance to explore his own powerful voice as a brand new solo artist.

Tickets for the 8 p.m. concert are now on sale with prices starting at $35. Tickets are available inside Wind Creek Casino in the Essential Sundry Shop and are also available at Ticketmaster.

Ticket holders must be 21 years old to attend the concert.

Wind Creek Casino and Hotel is located along Alabama 21 adjacent to Interstate 65. For details on this or other events, or for ticket information, call Wind Creek information at 368-8007.
