Two jailed on drug charges

A team effort of the Brewton and Flomaton Police Departments Tuesday night has put two Flomaton residents behind bars on a variety of drug and other charges.
Officers from each department executed a search warrant in the 800 block of M.L. King Drive in Flomaton around 11 p.m. Tuesday night, according to Lt. Bryan Davis with the Brewton Police Department.
Anthony Williams, 44, and Daisy Amanda Watson, 26 were arrested at the Williams home after evidence in an investigation by the Flomaton Police Department.
“Williams had been under investigation with the Flomaton Police Department for possession of counterfeit currency,” Davis said. ” The investigation was also in connection with the suspected distribution of illegal narcotics at that location.”
Davis said officers found a small amount of cocaine, several drug paraphernalia items and several counterfeit notes.
Williams was arrested and charged with two counts of unlawful possession of a controlled substance-cocaine; possession of drug paraphernalia,unlawful distribution of a controlled substance, and eight counts of second-degree possession of forged instrument.
Watson was arrested and charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance-cocaine and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Watson and Williams were transported to the Escambia County Detention Center by Flomaton Police Department where they were booked on the charges against them. Details of bond was not available late Wednesday.
