Altercation at business leads to arrest

Police took a woman into custody early Friday morning after she pulled out a handgun at Express Check Advance on Lindberg Avenue.

Personnel with the Atmore Police Department responded to a 911 call just before 9 a.m. of a woman with a handgun in the business.

The unidentified woman entered Express Check Advance and got into an altercation with an employee, according to Atmore Police Chief Jason Dean.

“An employee here at Express Check Advance was on her job,” he said. “A lady came up and confronted her about a male situation and brandished a gun, which led to an altercation. They called us to respond. There was a weapon, but no shots were fired.”
