Alice Mae James Cochran

Mrs. Alice Mae James Cochran, 95, of Atmore, died Monday, Aug. 15, 2011. She was a native of Freemanville and a resident of Atmore for most of her life. She was a member of the Homemaker’s Club, a quilter for the Quilting Club, an accomplished oil painter, an avid gardener and a member of the Pine Level Primitive Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jeff Cochran; five brothers, Arthur James, Herman James, Alvin James, Archie James and Dennis James; three sisters, Mattie Pearl Slay, Louise Thomley and Frances Lambert.
She sis survived by two sons, Jerry (Ginger) Cochran of Atmore and Ronald “Lefty” (Judy) Cochran of Pace, Fla.; a daughter, Sheila (Warren) Adams of Orange Beach; eight grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; 13 great-great-grandchildren; and one sister, Sybil Baldwin of Riverside, Calif.
Visitation services will be held Friday, Aug. 19 from 1 p.m. until funeral time at Pine Level Primitive Baptist Church. Funeral services will begin at 2 p.m. with Elder Gene Freeland and Elder Gary James officiating.
Burial will follow in the Pine Level Cemetery with Petty Eastside Chapel Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Pallbearers will be Craig Adams, Jeff Adams, Jim Cochran, Pat Lambert, Richard James and Terry Lambert. Honorary pallbearer will be John James.
