NHS loses to Catholic

The Northview Lady Chiefs tipped off their 2011 season with a match against the Pensacola Catholic Lady Crusaders Tuesday at Northview.

The Lady Chiefs (0-1, 0-0) fell in three straight games to the Lady Crusaders losing 14-25, 16-25 and 16-25.

Leading the Lady Chiefs was junior Misty Doran who posted four digs, three blocks, two kills and once ace.

Lady Chief sophomore Lily Townson recorded one ace, one assist and one dig, while junior Morgan Payne had five digs and one kill.

Sophomore Payton Hadley finished the match with two digs, one block and one assist.

The Lady Chiefs junior varsity also fell to Catholic in a two-game match. Northview fell in the first game 23-25 and 22-25 in the second game.

The Lady Chiefs JV was led by sophomore Danielle Steadham who recorded four digs, three kills, two aces and a block in the loss.

Junior Harley Caraway recorded one ace and an assist, while junior Hannah Fiellin posted four assists, one dig and one kill.

Sophomore Tiffani Pritchett recorded one kill and a dig against Catholic.

The Lady Chiefs next match is Sept. 6 at Jay High School in Jay, Fla. The junior varsity begins at 5 p.m. with the varsity to follow at 6 p.m.
