Once officers arrived on the scene, the clerk reported “a black male entered the store armed with a weapon.”

The clerk on duty at the time of the alleged robbery was not injured in the incident.

After leaving the store, the subject reportedly fled north on Main Street in a silver Dodge Intrepid.

Gray was arrested after police said he ran onto a curb at the corner of Main Street and Church Street and then led officers on a brief foot pursuit.

The weapon, reportedly a knife, and money were found on Gray’s person at the time of his arrest, police said.

He was transported to the Escambia County Detention Center in Brewton, where he was charged with first-degree robbery.
