Lady Chiefs fall to Flomaton in Monday match

Northview’s Lady Chiefs dropped their contest on Monday falling in three straight games to the Flomaton Lady Hurricanes in Flomaton.

The Lady Chiefs (0-4, 0-2) lost the first game 22-25, the second game 16-25 and the third and deciding game 14-25.

Leading the Lady Chiefs in the match were juniors Taylor Roberson and Morgan Payne. Roberson recorded two aces, two digs and a kill, while Payne finished the match with six kills and two aces.

Lady Chiefs sophomore Payton Hadley finished with two aces, two kills, two assists and one dig. Sophomore Lily Townson posted two assists, one ace and one dig.

In junior varsity action, the Lady Chiefs fell to the Lady Hurricanes in two games.

The Lady Chiefs (5-5, 1-1) lost 14-25 and 18-25 to Flomaton.

Leading the Lady Chiefs was sophomore Danielle Steadham who posted four kills, three aces, one assist and one block in the loss.

Sophomore Tiffani Pritchett finished the match with four assists, two aces and one kill, while sophomore Makayla Flowers had one ace and a kill.

Lady Chiefs freshman Kyndall Hall posted two kills and one ace.

The Lady Chiefs next match is Sept. 16 in the Spanish Fort tournament. Match times are TBA.

The Lady Chiefs are also taking part in a Dig Pink volleyball match on Thursday, Oct. 6 against the Flomaton Lady Hurricanes.

Dig Pink is an organization raising awareness for cancer through volleyball. The teams are selling t-shirts for $15 with the profits being donated to breast cancer awareness. Checks need to be made to Northview High School. A hospitality room will be available for survivors and cancer survivors will receive free admission to the games.

The JV will play aat 5 p.m. and Varsity will play at 6 p.m. at Northview.
