Three injured in Thursday collision

One victim of Thursday's collision was LifeFlighted for treatment.

Three people were injured Thursday afternoon when an SUV collided with a piece of equipment on Highway 97 in Walnut Hill.

Around 3 p.m. Thursday, a white Ford Explorer collided with a New Holland bulldozer attempting to cross the highway according to witnesses on the scene.

Although a report has not yet been filed by the FHP, witnesses said 22-year old Brittany Tutton and her 3-year old daughter Maddix were traveling south on Highway 97 when they hit the bulldozer, driven by Sam Tichi of Walnut Hill.

Tichi was LifeFlighted to Baptist Hospital in Pensacola. Tutton was also transported to Baptist Hospital for treatment. Her daughter was treated and released.

Atmore Fire Department, Walnut Hill Fire Department, Escambia County (Fla.) Sheriff’s Department and the State of Florida Public Heath and Medical service responded to the scene.
The incident remains under investigation by the FHP.
