Rachel Patterson Elementary School second grade teacher Brian Stallworth and special education teacher Debbie Silcox were awarded as the first Red Shoe winners of the 2011-12 school year.  The red shoe winners are chosen by RPES principal Susan Mckenzie and assistant  principal  Stephanie Jackson. They are chosen based on their work performance and their willingness to go above and beyond the call of duty.
