Senior Corps Week brought together volunteers from S.A.I.L centers all over the county. The Area Agency on Aging honored Escambia County men and women who volunteer in S.A.I.L centers throughout the county in September during the 40th annual Senior Corps Week.

Volunteers from centers in Atmore, Poarch, Huxford, Flomaton, Brewton and East Brewton gathered at the Flomaton S.A.I.L center to fellowship and enjoy a day exhibiting arts and crafts from around the county.

Among the many talents and hobbies featured were displays from guitar maker Herbert Prestridge, of Brewton; basket weavers Margaret Baggett and Chris Allison, of Poarch; crotchetiers Maggie and Herbert Hartley, of Brewton; artist Millie Jahrig, of East Brewton; pillow maker Bettie Prestridge, of Brewton, who makes heart-shaped pillows specifically for patients being treated for cancer.

Poarch Creek Indian basket weavers Margaret Baggett and Chris Allison display some of their work during Senior Corps Week.
