Oil drilling permit announced for county

A new oil and gas drilling permit for Escambia County  was announced this week by the Alabama Gas and Oil Board.

Ankor Holdings announced it would drill the Craft-Blackstone 13-1 unit(S 13, T2N, R8E) with a permit depth of 15,067 feet.

Pruit Production Company received a permit for its Conecuh County Jones 28-6(S28, T4N, R13E). This permit calls for a drilling depth of 12,500 feet.

Skylar Exploration also announced the Conecuh  Boothe & Casey site for a 12,200 foot well.

In other Escambia County drilling news Spooner Petroleum is building a location for its Powell 3-5 well. Ankor is also staking new locations on the Craft-Neal Farm well and Craft-Myrtle G. Reynolds 36-8 #1 unit.

Ankor is also preparing to test its Craft-McCall 9-16 #1 well and is waiting on a rig to drill a new well at the Craft-Huxford 6-6 #1 site.

In Monroe County Pruet Production is drilling at 3449 feet on its Murphy 21-5 #1 well and is preparing to complete its Langford 9-6 #1 unit. This well has a permit depth of 15,500 feet.

There was no new drilling news from Venture Gas and Oil of Laurel, Mississippi. This firm has several wells in production in the McCullough-Wayside Road area including the two Alabama Department of Correction properties.

One source told the Advance this week that several new drilling sites in the McCullough-State Farm-Huxford-Booneville area may be announced after the beginning of 2012.
