The family of fallen Marine LCpl. Travis M. Nelson, who was killed in action on August18, while serving in Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan is continuing to give back to their community by preparing and delivering Christmas meals to people in need during this year’s holiday season.

Meals will be distributed to elderly and disabled individuals who are homebound with no means of transportation and will be alone Christmas Day.

The family will be preparing 70 meals, at no cost, to deliver Christmas Day in the Atmore and Bratt, Fla. communities, and are asking residents aware of someone who lives in the area and could benefit from the free meals to call 251-253-8511 to reserve a meal, or email a reservation request to xmasdinner13@gmail.com.

Due to the limited number of meals, reservations are required. The family is asking those requesting a reservation to be prepared to provide the individuals name, age, phone number and address as well as at least one person of contact to verify eligibility.
