A two-car accident in front of Piggly Wiggly on Highway 97 left one woman injured Thursday morning.

Martez Dortch, 80, of Century, was taken to Atmore Community Hospital after her 2007 Ford sedan collided with a 1998 Ford pick-up truck driven by 25-year-old Reuben Maxwell, also of Century.

According to officials with the Florida Highway Patrol the wreck occurred as Dortch attempted to turn left across the highway’s northbound lane and traveled into the path of Maxwell’s truck.

Maxwell was not injured in the collision.
