A new gynecologist will be providing medical care in Atmore two days a month.

Dr. Tom Patton, M.D., gynecology and gynecologic oncologist expert with Baptist Medical Group, is now providing comprehensive gynecology care at Atmore Community Hospital located at 401 Medical Park Drive.

Patient appointments are available the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m.

In addition to routine gynecology care, Patton is fellowship trained in gynecologic oncology and offers specialized care for menstrual disorders, menopause management, breast health and minimally invasive surgical treatment for gynecologic conditions.

Patton completed his medical training and residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas. He attended Roswell Park Memorial Institute and M.D. Anderson Hospital for fellowships in gynecologic oncology. Currently, Dr. Patton serves in the Naval Reserves as a Navy Flight Surgeon, after completing three tours of duty in Iraq and Kuwait.

Patton also sees gynecologic oncology patients at Baptist Hospital in Pensacola, Fla.
