The Escambia County (Fla.) Sheriff’s Department is searching for a man who burglarized a home in Bratt Monday night.

Sergeant Mike Ward said Tuesday deputies were still on the look out for the intruder described by the resident as a skinny black male wearing a ski mask.

Ward said the resident, who lives in the 8000 block of Bratt Road, reported he was in the shower at the time of the break in and responded to strange noises by grabbing a rifle, which he accidentally fired, shooting through the roof and causing the intruder to flee.

A K-9 unit from Century Correctional Institution also responded to the scene, however a search of the area yielded no results.

Ward said there were no injuries during Monday’s incident and nothing was taken from the home.

Authorities ask that anyone with any information concerning Monday’s burglary call the Escambia County Sheriff’s Department at (850) 436-9630.
