An Atmore man was treated and released from North Baldwin Infirmary after being shot in the leg with a shotgun Friday night. Bryant Henderson, the alleged victim in the case, was shot in what officials believe was an altercation with another male subject on Ida Roberts Lane earlier Friday evening.
Henderson was taken to North Baldwin Infirmary’s emergency room where Baldwin County officers were summoned around 9 p.m., after medical personnel determined the injury was a gunshot wound. With the assistance of Baldwin County Sheriff’s office personnel, it was determined the incident had taken place inside Escambia County. Preliminary investigations into the incident determined two adult males got into an altercation over a female, reports say. Henderson’s injuries were not life threatening. Following treatment and release from the medical facility, Henderson was taken into custody due to multiple warrants against him. He was transported to the Escambia County Detention Center where he was booked on charge of revocation of community corrections, escape III, escape I, giving false name to law enforcement officer, driving while license suspended, failure to top at stop sign, first-degree unlawful possession of marijuana, operating a vehicle without insurance, attempting to elude, hindering prosecution and assault II. Henderson remains behind bars in lieu of bond as of Monday. Investigators with the Escambia County Sheriffs Department continue their investigation into the case. Anyone with additional information concerning the incident is asked to contact the Escambia County Sheriffs Department.
