Mayor Howard Shell is looking for a location in town that may be willing to house a Greyhound bus stop he said during Monday’s city council meeting. Shell said he has been contacted by representatives from the bus line, which has not had a presence in town since their departure in 2005, and was told the company is interested in implementing a bus stop location in town. Shell said the stop would not be an official bus station and would not sell tickets, but we would be a place for people to “take a break, and get something to drink or a pack of crackers.” Shell said any business or resident with any interest in helping house the location should contact him at Atmore City Hall at (251) 368-2253.
