An Atmore man found himself behind bars Friday morning after allegedly burglarizing a home in the 400 block of Poplar Street Saturday.

Toney M. Keith, 36, was taken into custody by Atmore police officers Friday at approximately 8:40 a.m. on Peachtree Street and charged with burglary in the second degree, theft of property in the second degree and fraudulent use of a credit card.

Keith was transported from Atmore Jail to the Escambia County Detention Center in Brewton where he is awaiting a bond hearing.

Atmore Police Chief Jason Dean said he could not provide any more details on the case.
