The recently published book “Escambia County” by Tom McMillan is now for sale. This book was written on behalf of the Escambia County Historical Society, and includes many photographs which have not been published before. It covers the whole county, including Atmore, Canoe, Flomaton, Brewton, East Brewton and surrounding communities.

A book signing will take place on March 28, from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Brewton Public Library. McMillan will be at the library to discuss why he wrote the book and how the process went. He will also sign copies of the book for those who wish to purchase them.

“I did this because the Escambia County Historical Society wanted to do it,” McMillan said. “I volunteered because I thought it was time to go ahead and do it. It was something that a group of people would have had a hard time putting it all together.”
