Perdido Elementary students recently raised more than $1,000 for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital through participation in America’s largest education-based fundraiser – Math-A-Thon.
Coordinated by fourth grade teacher Geri Peacock, the Math-A-thon is a supplemental math education program for grades K-8 that also serves as a fund raiser for St. Jude.
The program is free, and is designed to compliment the existing math curriculum, while teaching students the importance of helping others.
The total amount raised by students was $1,484.54. Top fundraisers were: Caleb Thomley – $300.00, Jacob Cos – $280.00, Macail Sims – $136.00 and Alyssa Long $125.00.
