An Atmore man is in jail in Lafayette, La. after authorities busted him with over 1,000 grams of cocaine.

According to Lafayette Parish Correctional Facility and Sheriff’sDepartment  records, Anterrio Montgomery, 29, was arrested just after 11 p.m. Wednesday after a three-month investigation by the Lafayette Metro Narcotics Task Force.

Montgomery was arrested in the 300 block of Lee Avenue in Lafayette and found to have in his possession 1,142 grams of cocaine, which equals one kilogram. Law enforcement agents valued the drugs as being worth $114, 200 on the streets.

Montgomery was booked into the Lafayette Parish Correctional Facility on the charge of possession with the intent to distribute cocaine. As of Friday, he was still awaiting a bond hearing.
