Jefferson Davis Community College softball and volleyball head coach Misti Nims has announced plans for two upcoming camps.

Nims will offer a softball camp beginning Monday, June 11 through Wednesday, June 13. The camp will be held from 8 a.m. to noon at the JDCC softball fields.

The camp is open for campers age eight through those entering their senior year. The cost of the camp is $50 before June 8 and $60 the day of the camp.

Camp sessions are designed to improve the fundamental skills of softball, such as catching, throwing, hitting, bunting, pitching, fielding and overall knowledge. The entire JDCC softball team, along with its coaching staff, will be providing instruction.

Nims will hold a volleyball camp Monday, June 18 through Wednesday, June 20 at the JDCC Gym.

The camp will be held from 8 a.m. to noon and will be open to campers age eight through those entering the senior year.
The cost is $50 before June 15 and $60 on the day of the camp.

Camp sessions are designed to improve the fundamental skills of volleyball, such as digging, spiking, serving, setting and mental toughness.

In addition, campers will work on offensive and defensive strategies. The JDCC volleyball team, along with its coaching staff, will be providing instruction.
