Dorothy “Dot” Reynolds Drew

Dorothy “Dot” Reynolds Drew celebrated her 95th birthday on Sunday, June 3 in the fellowship hall of the Booneville Baptist Church. The event was hosted by her children, T. Wayne Drew, Deanie Booker, and Byron Ray Drew. Hostesses included Monica Booker, Shirley Frazier, and Glennis Smith. Tom Frazier and Kim Drew were the photographers.

The Celebration began with an opening prayer by Pastor Barry Lee of the Booneville Baptist Church. Monica Booker led the singing of “Happy Birthday, God Bless You.” There were an estimated 97 family members and guests. Family members were T. Wayne and Gay V. Drew;Wayne’s oldest son, T. Rus (Kim) Drew, Anna Katherine and Ryan Drew, Columbus, GA; Deanie (Jimmy) Booker, Huxford; Eddie (Monica) Booker, children, Travis and Lane, Uriah; Todd Booker; Jamie Booker, Huxford; Byron Ray Drew, Gainesville, GA.  Special guests for the celebration were Dot’s school classmate, Annie Mae Walker Howell, 97 years old; Lucille Killingsworth; and Polly Kirby, her Scrabble partner.

The fellowship hall was decorated with a theme of pink, Dot’s favorite color. The serving table was accented with a beautiful arrangement of roses from Coley’s Petals and Parties. Tables were covered with pink tablecloths. Each table held an arrangement of roses with seasonal greenery created by Gay Drew. A Commemorative Table was prepared with a memory board, photo album and photos depicting the life of the guest-of-honor, Dot. Anna Katherine and Ryan Drew (great grandchildren) created a grab bag of toys for the children
Family and guests enjoyed refreshments of birthday cake, cupcakes, nuts, mints, ice cream and punch.
