Chief Sergeant Darrell Hixon

A Retirement ceremony In honor of Chief Sergeant Darrell Hixon; Command Paralegal Manager Headquarters Air Force Special Operations Command was held on May 25, 2012 at Hurlburt Field, Fla.

Hixon is the command paralegal manager for Air Force Special Operations Command (AFSOC), for Hurlburt Field. He manages plans and directs training, assignments and development of paralegals and civilian support personnel within AFSOC and acts as principal advisor to the Staff Judge Advocate on all enlisted matters.

He was born in Atmore and entered active duty in 1982. After Air Force Basic Training, he attended the administrative field and technical training school at Keesler AFB, Miss. He retrained into the paralegal career field in 1987.

Hixon is married to the former Nympha Lisondra. They have five children, Christalline, MaryElaine, Arlyn, Darrell and Ashley. Hixon is the son of Mildred Feldre Lykes “baby sister” and the late Charles Phillip Hixon. He was raised by the late Arthur and Mary Alice Grissett of Atmore. He is the brother of Jeanell (Glenn) Lewis, Annette Frye and Yolanda Lykes, all of Atmore, Jimmy Lykes Jr. of Mobile, Towaka (Anderson) Townsend and Kenneta Lykes of Tuscaloosa.  He is also a 1982 graduate of Escambia County High School.
