Williams Station Day a hit

Atmore Chamber of Commerce Director Sheryl Vickery said earlier in the week she hoped for another great year at Williams Station Day and now she believes the 2012 festival was a success.
“It went well considering the weather,” Vickery said. “It was the coldest one I’ve ever been to. We got a lot of great compliments other than the weather. The entertainment was great.”
The overall turnout was good, although the chilly weather put a slight damper on things.
“A lot of the vendors were pleased with themselves,” Vickery said. “The crowds were good. It was just so cold that a lot of people who would normally stay for three hours only stayed for an hour and a half.”
One area where there were considerably more people than last year was in the 2012 Williams Station Day 5K.
“They had more in the 5K than before,” Vickery said. “The race grew a bit and I figure it will grow every year from now on.”
