Local law enforcement officers netted yet another drug arrest last week when a 22-year-old Atmore woman was arrested Thursday and charged with possession of a controlled substance after authorities stopped her vehicle.

Scott Walden, 21st Judicial Drug Task Force agent, said Ashley Holland, of Lynn McGhee Drive, was stopped on Howard Street for outstanding warrants when a search of her purse turned up Alprazolam pills that weren’t prescribed to her.

“There were nine pills left of 120,” he said. “The prescription was filled on Jan. 3.”

Holland was taken into custody and transported to the Escambia County Detention Center in Brewton, where her new charge was added to the outstanding warrants against her. She was later released on $5,000 bond.
